Anyway
Last week we went to Perth as a family. Being a lover of planes and airports I was looking forward to staying at the Parkroyal at Melbourne Airport. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. Whilst it was a bit on the pricey side, the kids and I loved our runway view watching the planes take of and land. Sebastian especially liked seeing the size of the A380. We had dinner at the airport terminal and lets just say it was forgettable. We made the most of the 24 hr gym and went pool and had a swim. I went back later and had a another swim and a ride on the indoor bike. Our night sleep wasn't too good as Milana ended up coughing all night and it left us all bar one unable to sleep. With and early morning flight this wasn't ideal.
In the morning it was off to Qantas Club for breakfast and then onto our Jetstar flight. A short delay ended up costing more time as we got stuck at the back of the queue. Must say some of the turbulence was the most violent I have experienced. Even the cabin crew jumped for the nearest seats, leaving the catering trolley in the aisle. The turbulence and the head winds pushed the flight out to 4 1/2 hours. Thank god for ipads and spare seats to keep the kids amused.
Kings Park |
Lunch at Kings Park was the first wake up call on the cost of living in Perth, obviously the Mining Boom has inflated things. Being a coffee lover, trips to cafe turned out to be costly. But when sitting in the beautiful Naked Fig Cafe in Swanbourne overlooking the Indian Ocean, cost is the furtherest thing on your mind.
